My review of the fantastic Fashion from Paris: A donation of Erika Hoffmann exhibition at Berlin’s Kunstgewerbemuseum was recently published on the Costume Society website. This was my introduction to Erika Hoffmann, a fascinating figure who is almost unknown outside the art world, where she is a major collector and supporter. Her own history drew me in and I was captivated in particular by her recreation of garments designed by female Russian Constructivist artists and her role in the rediscovery of the movement in the seventies and eighties.
